About
Thirty years of building and running energy assets, from Brunei to the Pilbara
I lead CDI Energy, a Perth-based electrical and renewable energy contractor helping WA utilities, industry and remote communities move to cleaner, more reliable power. Our focus is standalone power systems: solar, battery and backup generation built for sites off the main grid, delivered for government utilities across regional WA and the Pilbara.
Before renewables I spent more than 25 years in oil and gas and gas transmission. I started with Shell as an offshore operations engineer in Brunei, ran projects and operations for BHP out of Darwin, was a General Manager at EnergyAustralia, a Senior Project Manager with PETRONAS in Kuala Lumpur, and spent seven years in engineering and business development with Mitsui in Perth. I then led two ASX-listed exploration companies through renewables, exploration and project work, ran APA Group’s gas transmission business in Western Australia and advised Triangle Energy on commercial matters and strategy.
The common thread is taking energy projects from concept through engineering, procurement and construction to commissioning, and then running them safely in places that are a long way from help.
I hold Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
